1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers provided by your sign-in provider (Google). We do not store your password.

Uploaded Files

Files you upload are stored securely on Cloudflare R2. We process file contents only to deliver the Service features you request (storage, sharing, AI analysis). We do not sell, share, or use your files for advertising.

Usage Data

We may collect basic analytics such as page views, feature usage, and error logs to improve the Service. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To process and store your uploaded files and deliver them to people you share links with.
• To power AI features: uploaded files may be sent to Anthropic (Claude) for analysis when you or a link recipient uses the AI chat. Anthropic does not use your data for training.
• To manage your account and billing.
• To communicate important updates about the Service.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare R2 — secure file storage and delivery.
• Google Firebase — authentication and database.
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI file analysis and chat. Files are sent to Anthropic only when AI features are used. Anthropic's usage policy prohibits training on customer data.

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

4. Data Retention

Each plan includes a storage allowance. By default, your files never expire. You can optionally set a retention period per space (e.g. 1 day, 7 days, 1 month); if you do, files in that space may be automatically deleted after that period. When a retention period expires, files are permanently deleted from storage. Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time.

5. Data Security

All file transfers are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Files are stored on Cloudflare's globally distributed infrastructure. Access to your spaces is controlled by unique, unguessable links and, for owners, authentication tokens. We implement reasonable security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Sharing & Visibility

When you create a space and share the link, anyone with that link can view the files, use the AI chat, and (if enabled) upload or delete files. You control these permissions per space. We recommend sharing links only with intended recipients.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Export your uploaded files at any time.
• Withdraw consent for AI analysis by disabling AI features.

9. Children's Privacy

simpledrop is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
